Qnarik Vardanyan

57 years old, Tailor

“I am Qnarik Vardanyan. I live in Yerevan with my husband and son. My husband is from Artsakh, Talish. He took part in the first Nagorno-Karabakh war. It left its negative trace in every Armenian family and in my family too. I do not want to describe my feelings about the war in detail, I only want to say that we experienced days of anxiety and stress, days when we thanked God for every dawn and every second we lived” — Qnarik has been working at “Sewing Hope for Armenia” as a seamstress since the beginning of our journey.

A woman with such bright eyes, who finds positivity in everything, whose life is full of difficulties, but who is an example of hope and optimism. “Qnarik is the happiness of our team,” — her colleagues say.

Among my relatives and my husband’s relatives were many war veterans. Sadly, some of them did not return home. On September 27, one of our relatives called us and told us about the war. Hell in the 90’s came back again to take more casualties and young lives. Before the war we looked at life differently, now I appreciate every second of my life.

My spouse and I have health issues, I have had a 3rd degree disability since 2007, so it was very difficult for me to find work, but there was and is a need to survive and buy medicine.

My only son is 17 years old. I was 40 when he was born. Now I’m doing everything I can to help him reach his goal of becoming a soccer player.
Before working at “Sewing Hope for Armenia”, I tried to find a job that was decent and compatible with my health problems, but I couldn’t find anything.

“Before the war we looked at life differently, now I value every second of my life. There is no life without hope. Believe, turn to God and he will answer all your questions. I asked for it and God gave me a chance”.

One of my friends who was already working here told me about the company and was the connecting link through which I met the head of the company, Laura. After meeting her, I realized that I had found something that I had not been able to find for a long time.

I am the only breadwinner in my family: my son is still studying and my husband is disabled. When I joined the project “Sewing Hope for Armenia”, I knew how to sew, but not professionally, and here I was taught new knowledge and skills, making me a true professional.

When I came here, I felt the greatness and power of love. Everyone cares for each other, they are kind and considerate, we have an atmosphere that fills the heart with happiness and hope.

Hope is the light in this life. It is impossible to live without hope. Believe, ask God, and He will give the answer to all your questions. I asked Him, and God gave me a chance.
